Our Mission

Fora Arts Collective is a New York–based collective dedicated to building accessible, community-driven spaces where artists can share their work, collaborate, and grow. Founded in 2021 by Alana Commando and Nora Lemtouni—who first met as random roommates— Fora Arts was created with a simple goal: to build an environment where artists can participate in the art world without traditional barriers, and where collaboration, experimentation, and community come first.

What began as an idea to host a few small pop-up exhibitions quickly evolved into something much larger. Since its founding, Fora Arts has produced six gallery exhibitions and brought together more than 65 artists, musicians, and creative vendors through its programming.

At its core, Fora Arts is about fostering an inclusive and supportive space for artists to connect and create together. As artists and creatives themselves, Alana and Nora built Fora Arts not only as a platform for others, but as a shared space that also fuels their own artistic practices, one rooted in collaboration, curiosity, and community.

Alana Commando is a visual artist and Co-Founder of Fora Arts, based in New York City. With a background in drawing and painting, she views art as a powerful vessel for connection and dialogue. Alana started Fora Arts with the intention of building a community where artists can freely exchange ideas and bring creative projects to life. She holds a BFA in Painting and Drawing from SUNY New Paltz and maintains an active studio practice.

Nora Lemtouni is a creative writer and Co-Founder of Fora Arts, based in New York City. Through Fora Arts, she focuses on building accessible opportunities for emerging artists and fostering collaborative spaces where creativity can thrive outside traditional institutional frameworks. Nora has a background in creative writing and the performing arts.
